First Stride Events

Refund and Deferral Policy

All event entries purchased through First Stride Events are final. No refunds will be issued after entry, including where a participant:

  • Can no longer attend

  • Is injured or becomes ill

  • Has a change in personal circumstances

  • Has a scheduling conflict

  • Fails to attend the event

  • Does not complete the event

Deferrals

At the discretion of the event organiser, First Stride Events may offer the following deferral options:

For the purposes of this policy, an “extreme circumstance” may include, but is not limited to:

  • Family bereavement

  • Significant travel disruption, such as a public transport strike

  • A life-threatening illness, such as cancer or a heart attack

  • Other circumstances of a similar serious nature

Evidence or supporting documentation may be requested at the discretion of First Stride Events. The assessment and decision of First Stride Events will be final.

Deferral Conditions

  • A deferral request must be submitted in writing before the applicable deadline.

  • Deferrals cannot be exchanged for cash or a refund.

  • Deferrals may not be transferred to another person unless expressly approved in writing by First Stride Events.

  • A deferral must be used within the following calendar year. For example, a deferral requested in 2026 must be used by 31 December 2027.

  • First Stride Events cannot guarantee that the same event will take place in the following year.

  • If the relevant event does not take place, the entrant will be offered a credit for another event organised by First Stride Events.

  • Any credit or replacement entry may be subject to the terms, availability, and pricing applicable to the selected event.

  • Deferrals requested after the event has taken place will not generally be accepted.

Event Cancellation or Changes

If First Stride Events cancels, postpones, or materially changes an event due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control—including severe weather, natural disasters, public health concerns, government restrictions, venue issues, or other unforeseen circumstances—no refund will be automatically awarded.

At the discretion of First Stride Events, participants may be offered one of the following options:

  • A deferral to a future First Stride Events event

  • A full refund

  • A credit or discount toward a future First Stride Events event

  • Another remedy determined appropriate by First Stride Events

Any option offered will be communicated to participants and may be subject to specific terms, conditions, availability, and deadlines. First Stride Events cannot guarantee that the same event will be rescheduled or take place in the future.

Acceptance of Policy

By registering for an event organised by First Stride Events, the participant acknowledges and accepts this Refund and Deferral Policy.

First Stride Events reserves the right to amend this policy where necessary. Any amendments will be communicated through the relevant event registration page or official communication channels.
